Traversing media and disciplines, the 2020–21 season of Public Programs and Engagement at Columbia University School of the Arts focused on the concept of Repair. Gavin Browning organized conversations, films, events, and performance that explored creative practices that engage social and political initiatives committed to reimagining and transforming frayed relationships between humans, other species, the planet, and ourselves.

Featuring Maya Lin, Aliza Nisenbaum, Phillip Lopate, Lucy Tulugarjuk, Meejin Young, María Sojob, as well as podcasts of plays from Mexico, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Gavin Browning participated in a panel discussion, Experimental Preservation, with Jorge Otero-Pailos, Sam Van Aken, and Carol Becker. Read about it in “The Healing Power of Art” by Eve Glasberg, Columbia News, November 5, 2020.
